Pebble Second Generation Smartwatch
Pebble has rolled out their second generation smartwatch at CES earlier this month, the Pebble Steel. The Pebble Steel features the same monochrome E Ink display, four-button interface, and will be able to communicate to your device using the Pebble smartphone app, available for iOS and Android. The latest Pebble steel can now lasts between 5 and 7 days of usage on a single charge and it is waterproof to 5ATM.
Pebble Official Appstore Coming Soon!
The company is also preparing for the release of its Pebble Appstore, which is built into the iOS and Android app. The store, which should go live soon, is already packed with offerings, all of which are free. It’ll be now easy to find 3rd-party Pebble smartwatch apps and install for this smart watch.
The company says that thousands of Pebble watch apps, games and watch faces have already been submitted and waiting for approval. Sad to say, the Pebble smartwatch lets you store only up to eight apps on, so the smartphone app now includes a “locker” which lets you keep apps on hand without actually putting them on the watch. It’s easy to shuffle them between the watch and the locker.
Pebble Steel Pricing and Availability
The Pebble Steel is available for $249, and you can find out more details over at Pebble at the link below, apparently it is available in limited quantities at the moment. At the moment you can also check my other blog post about Pebble Limited Edition Smartwatches.
