I’m sure this is not the first time you have seen a hybrid tablet and laptop at the same time as I’ve posted similar devices here in my blog for the past few years from different brands such as Dell, Acer, Lenovo and many more just to mention a few.
Lenovo Miix 700 Hybrid Laptop with Detachable Keyboard
Lenovo has several new products announced at IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2015 held in Berlin, Germany and one of their newest devices is the Miix 700 Hybrid Windows 10 laptop that doubles as a tablet when the keyboard is detach.
The Miix 700 comes with a rear kickstand and a detachable keyboard that magnetically snaps onto its display and can also be used to protect the display when travelling.
In terms of specifications, the Lenovo Miix 700 features a 12-inch display with 2560 x 1440 resolutions, and it is powered by Intel’s latest 6th Generation Skylake Core m7 processor paired with Intel HD graphics.
Other important features of the Miix 700 hybrid laptop/tablet include 256GB solid state drive internal drive, supports up to 8GB of RAM, Intel Realsense 3D camera, 1 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0, micro HDMI, micro Sim (LTE / 3G SKU only), microSD, audio combo jack and it will run on Windows 10 operating system.
The new Lenovo Miix 700 has a very similar design to Microsoft latest Surface Pro 3; although some companies are telling it is indeed a Surface Pro 3 clone.
Well for me personally I love both designs and I will go through the one which is affordable with awesome specs. The company also claims that the Miix 700 has a progressive design.
It will be available in gold and black color scheme with a starting price of $699.
FLEX 2 dual-mode laptops
These laptops can be used as a traditional laptop in “laptop mode” or to be used in “stand mode” by flipping the keyboard underneath the screen 300 degrees.
Detailed specs include Intel core i7 processor with NVIDIA GeForce graphics or an AMD A8 APU processor and Radeon R5 M230 graphics.
In terms of storage user can select 1TB of hard drive or hybrid SSHD storage or up to 256 GB SSD storage.
Other features of the Flex 2 lineup are 10-finger multi-touch displays, optional backlit keyboard, stereo speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio v2 technology, 720p HD webcam, dual digital microphones and will operate using Windows 8.1. The Lenovo FLEX 2 14-inch and 15.6-inch will start at $799 (U.S.) and $429 (U.S.) respectively.
Dell Venue 10 7000 Tablet with Detachable Keyboard
What’s unique about the Dell Venue 10 7000 is its aluminum chassis with a “barrel edge” at the bottom which houses the battery, speakers and connects to an optional keyboard transforming it to an android powered laptop.
Other features of the Venue 10 7000 include a 2MP front-facing camera and an 8MP rear-facing camera with Intel RealSense snapshot depth camera. The tablet has also WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, and front-firing stereo speakers with MaxxAudio Waves tuning, and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
The Dell Venue 10 7000 is already available on Dell.com for countries in the US, Canada and China last May 2015 with starting price of $499 or $629 with optional keyboard.
HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G3 Hybrid Notebook
This hybrid notebook is powered by Intel Broadwell i3, i5 or i7 processors and can utilize up to 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of SSD which can be upgraded up to 512GB storage capacity depending on your requirements.
In addition, the new HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G3 sports an 11.6-inch touchscreen display that can be rotated and folded down to act as a tablet.
Other core features include two USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet Port, DisplayPort, audio ports, docking connector, a microSD card reader and equipped with a 6 cell, 44 Whr battery.
HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G3 measures 11.2″ x 8.3″ 0.9″ and weighs 3.1 pounds.

LG Tab-Book Ultra Z160
LG Tab-Book Ultra Z160 LTE comes with a built-in keyboard.
Thanks to the Auto-Sliding feature, with a single press of this button, the device’s mechanism pushes the 11.6-inch, 1366 x 768 resolution, IPS LED 5-point multitouch display panel back while revealing its physical QWERTY keyboard and use it instead of on-screen keyboard.
This device is powered by Core i5 processor, and it support LTE 4G mobile network as well as WiFi.
LG Tab Book Duo
It features a 10.1 inch multi-touch IPS display and it will be powered by an Intel quad core processor. Other important details about it specs hasn’t been release so far. Only available information about this tablet is that – the LG Tab Book Duo screen can act as a tablet, and it has option for keyboard attachment that lets you type out documents, emails and etc.
It also comes with Windows 8.1 preinstalled and it has USB 3.0, micro HDMI, WiFi connectivity and is said to lasts 11 hours on a single charge. It is now available in South Korea for 740,000 Won approximately $670, unfortunately no word on availability if it will be release globally.
LG Tab Book
The LG Tab Book 11TA740-GA50K features a 11.6-inch 1080p display and it will be powered by an Intel Core i5 4200U 2.6Ghz processor, Intel HD graphics 4400, 4GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD and will use Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean as its operating system. Other specifications on the LG Tab Book include a microSD card slot, 2 x USB 3.0 and HDMI.
The LG Tab Book is designed to be a 2 in 1 device, it can be used as either a tablet or a laptop that is why it has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard aside from its 10-point touch control. Dimensions of the Tab Book are 286x192x16.7mm and weighs 1.05 kg.
Asus Taichi notebook/tablet hybrid was announced at Computex 2012 in Taipei. This hybrid tablet runs Microsoft’s Windows 8 and it’s available in two versions: an 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch model, both system are powered by Intel’s 3rd Generation Ivy Bridge Core i7 CPU.
Technically this notebook has a display on both sides of its lid, both features Super IPS with 1080 resolution and LED-backlit displays. Both screens are fully independent, so different things can be displayed on each one simultaneously.
You can use Asus TAICHI as a multi-touch tablet with stylus support while it is closed, but once you open it and reveal the QWERTY keyboard, you can use it as an Ultrabook.
Other than the Ivy Bridge processor, the Asus Taichi also features 4GB of RAM, SSD storage, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, Micro HDMI, mini DisplayPort, a 5-megapixel rear camera, HD front-facing camera, and it also supports dual-band WiFi 802.11n connectivity.
Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx
It is the first Windows 8 tablet powered with dual core Intel Clover Trail platform. The Lynx features a 11.6-inch IPS five-point multi-touch screen display for easy navigation and 400 cd/m2 brightest with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, an Intel Atom Z2760 Clover Trail processor, a 2GB of RAM, and a 32GB to 64GB of flash storage.
The Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, a microUSB port, a microSD card slot, a micro HDMI, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and dual stereo speakers. It also features an optional keyboard dock transforming it to a laptop mode with additional 2 USB ports to connect external devices and to add an extra juice on its overall battery life up to 16 hours of use.
The Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx retails for $599, but if you add a keyboard dock then you’ll have to pay additional $150.
Dell Inspiron Duo
It is equipped with a Dual Core Intel Atom N550 processor, 2GB of DDR3 memory, and comes pre-installed with Windows 7. This convertible netbook will be available this year, but its price is still unknown.
Acer Iconia Dual-Screen Laptop and Tablet in One
Acer Iconia is a dual-screen notebook that can also be used as a tablet. As you can see its keyboard is actually the secondary screen, both displays are 14-inch touchscreen with a HD resolution of 1,366 x 768.
Both screens are made of ultra-thin Gorilla Glass, a “highly intuitive all-point multi-touch functionality”.
Core specifications for this new technology includes an Intel Core i5 CPU, 320 GB HDD (up to 750GB), Acer Ring UI for better control on its virtual keyboard, HDMI, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi b/g/n connectivity and latest USB 3.0 ports.
The Acer Iconia weighs just six pounds and comes with 3G and Dolby Home Theater V3 support as well as Gesture Editor. Pricing and release date for this upcoming notebook is still unknown.
Archos Flip Convertible Notebook/Tablet
This hybrid notebook/tablet is very similar to Lenovo Yoga and one of Acer’s recently launched notebook called R 13 which has a slim design and can be used as a tablet when you flip its touchscreen display 360 degrees.
I’ve seen this personally a few weeks ago and I really like its design and color with light blue at the back and black for its keyboard and body. I’m sure there are other colors available on other local stores.
In terms of specifications, the Flip sports an 11.6-inch LED-backlit multi-touch display with 1366 X 768 resolution and it will be powered by Intel Atom X5-Z8300 1.4GHz Cherry Trail processor, paired with Intel HD graphics, 2GB of memory and 32GB of internal storage.
In addition, the Flip is also equipped with 2 megapixel front facing camera that you can use for taking photos and video camera for Skype and similar 3rd party software. In terms of connectivity, it features Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless, GPS and 3G cellular.
For the physical ports, the Flip comes with micro HDMI, USB 3.0 port, microSD slot, 3.5mm headphone line out and mic-in. The convertible notebook is also equipped with stereo speakers, 8000 mAh battery and has a stylish slim design with preinstalled Windows 10 64-bit edition. The Archos Flip hybrid notebook/tablet has an estimated price of $280 or €249.
Lenovo ThinkPad X201
This notebook is powered by a dual core 2.66GHz Core i7, and features a 12-inch lcd display with multi touch display screen technology having a maximum resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and extra bright outdoor technology.
This tablet also features advanced technology like fingerprint or biometrics scanner to grant access to the user. The Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Core i7 tablet can handle up to 8 GB of memory, and storage capacity of 500 GB.
Of course this tablet has its USB ports, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as WiMax and 3G technology. The X201 Core i7 tablet has an original price tag of $1,199.
