Alcatel’s latest technology called Idol X+ was launched last month in China, and now the company is showing off their newest octa-core Android smartphone at CES. The Alcatel Idol X+ is an upgrade from its predecessor Idol X and it will be powered by MediaTek’s first octa-core processor, with a clock speed of 2GHz MediaTek MT6592 processor. The Alcatel Idol X+ sports a 5 inch Full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Other important specs of the handset include16GB internal storage, plus a microSD card slot which can take up to 32GB cards. This octa-core smartphone will also have 2MP front and 13MP rear facing cameras. The Alcatel Idol X+ will come out in the box preinstalled with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with 2,500mAh rated battery, and it is expected to retail for around $300 without a contract when it launches in Europe next month (February).
