Acer’s Latest technology news shows that they’ve already launched the world’s first 3D notebook, the Acer Aspire 5738DG which features the TriDef 3D Technology, with a 3D screen, software and glasses that allow you to view 3-dimensional content on the notebook. Hardware specification of the Acer Aspire 5738DG includes an Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 processor, 15.6 inch HD 3D display with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics (512MB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM), 4GB of DDR2 1066 MHz memory, 320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive, multi-in-1 media card reader, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 8X DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive, webcam, Dolby surround sound system with two built-in stereo speakers, multi-gesture touchpad, 4x USB 2.0 ports, 6-cell battery, and Windows 7 Home Premium.
The 3D viewing on this Acer notebook will be best used for watching action movies and playing 3D games on it. The Acer Aspire 5738DG notebook allows you to easily switch between 2D and 3D modes. The 2D is used when you’re using standard applications such as Word, spreadsheets, documents and email etc. And only a simple click of the mouse allows you to get into the 3D mode. The TriDef Media Player is the included application that lets you playback 3D videos or photos. And the TriDef Ignition tool enables 2D to 3D conversions for games and applications supporting DirectX 9 and above. Available in the retail stores, this laptop cost $799.99 for the moment.
