Sony Ericsson’s Latest Technology: Vivaz Pro QWERTY SmartPhone

Sony Ericsson has announced its latest device known as Vivaz Pro, a QWERTY version for their Vivas series smartphones. This new handheld device from Sony, features a 3.2-inch touch screen display with 360 x 640 resolution, an 8.1-megapixel camera,  slide-out keyboard for speedier and comfortable messaging, a VGA output, face detection technology, image stabilization, geo-tagging, smile detection , 720p HD video, 3.5mm headphone jack, and easy upload to various social media services e.g Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. There’s also a webkit-based browser, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support and Wisepilot turn-by-turn navigation app.  This latest handheld device measures 109 x 52 x 15 mm and has a microSD slot (with an 8GB card preloaded).  No word on pricing, but Sony Ericsson reckon the Vivaz pro will land in Q2 2010.

ASUS has announced their latest gadget, the new Garmin ASUS Nuvifone M10 Series. This new handset from ASUS adopts a 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels, a 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, WI-FI, 512MB RAM/ROM, a 1500mAh battery, 4GB memory, microSDHC card, Garmin GPS software, a 600MHz Qualcomm processor, and runs under Windows Mobile 6.5.3. It will be released on February 6th with a retail price of $450.

AT&T and HP has announced its latest technology, introducing the new HP iPAQ Glisten business-oriented smartphone. This latest device is previously called as HP iPAQ K3 Obsidian. It is powered by a Qualcomm 7200A processor, with 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. This latest smartphone features a full QWERTY keyboard for messaging, 5-way directional pad, a 3.1 megapixel fixed-focus camera, a 2.50 inches 65000 colors AMOLED with 320 x 240 px touch display, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, a microSD memory card slot that allows users to include up to 32GB of additional storage space, and runs under Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack and microUSB connector for easy transfer of multimedia files. The HP iPAQ Glisten will be available in the coming weeks for $179.99 after $50 rebate with two-year agreement, smartphone data plan.

LG & AT&T has announced its latest technology, the new LG eXpo smartphone. This latest device is windows-powered smartphone that runs under Windows Mobile 6.5 Operating system, which is aimed for the business market. The LG eXpo features a 3.2 inch touchscreen LCD display, a whooping 1 GHz processor, a full QWERTY keyboard, a built in A-GPS, a 5 megapixel camera, a fingerprint sensor, a MicroSD card that can support up to a 16GB, and features an optional DLP projector that is attached to the back of the phone. The LG eXpo smartphone will be available at AT&T for $199.99 with a 2-yr contract agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate starting December 7.

Dell officially announced its latest technology, a new android smartphone called the Mini 3i OPhone. This latest technology is running under China Mobile’s Android-based Open Mobile System, which according to PC maker, is “the world’s smallest Dell”. As expected, the Chinese Mini 3i variant is quadband GSM/EDGE only (no 3G), and has a 3.5-inch nHD widescreen touchscreen display, GPS, Bluetooth, mini-USB and microSD card slot up to (32GB). This latest device is available in two colors: “Red Passion” and “Oiled Bronze”. The Mini 3i Ophone cost 4800 yuan in China(about $ 704).

This latest technology has a display of 2.6 inch OLED scratch resistant with screen resolutions of 240 x 320 pixels, displaying up to 16 million colours. It has internal storage capacity of 8GB, and can be extended up to 16GB with a MicroSD memory card. Techie users of this handset will surely enjoy, because of its 8 mega-pixel camera, completed with a wide-angle Carl Zeiss lens, a dual LED flash and a fast shutter for reduced motion blur. BlackBerry Curve 8530 is the latest technology announced from Sprint, this latest device has a display of 320×240 resolution with two-megapixel camera. It comes with an OpenGL support for better performance in handling 3D graphics.  In addition, this new handset has an integrated Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G EVDO network support. The Curve 8530 has a QWERTY keyboard and a trackpad which replaced the trackball, a dedicated music controls and a quicker access to MySpace, Facebook and Flickr.

The Sony Ericsson Aino phone is a techie smartphone with a 3-inch 432 x 240 touchscreen equipped with 8.1MP camera with image stabilization, a high-end user interface and PS3 Remote Play support. PS3 Remote Play support allows users to power on the gaming console, access the Internet, play locally-stored media, or navigate the interface. The 3-inch display presents virtual buttons that replicate the PS3’s controller layout.

Philips is about to launch its latest Google Android powered smartphone, the Philips V808. The Philips V808 is their second Android powered handset and it comes with a 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen display, a 3.2 megapixel camera, and microSD card support up to 8GB. Other techie features of this android device includes widget support and multimedia player including video and audio. The Philips V808 has a 1000 mAh battery which will likely last for several hours, and has a GSM/GPRS/EDGE for its connectivity. There is no word on pricing or availability, or any details when we might see the Philips V808 is the US and Europe.
