HP Mini 5103 Intel Atom Dual Core

If you still remember in my previous post, I have posted before one of Asus netbook which is equipped with an Intel Atom N550 processor. On that time that model was really popular then. Recently HP has announced its version with an ATOM N5500 processor which is said to believe that HP will have its Intel Atom Dual Core N5500 with a clockspeed of 1.5 Ghz processor with a 512kb L2 cache and 667FSB, much faster than the previous version. So if you are planning to get your own netbook then you might want to have these notebook series which are dual core. The HP Mini 5103 is going to be released in next month in the U.S.

Lenovo ThinkPad L412 with Core i5

Lenovo has unveiled its latest laptop called ThinkPad L412. This latest technology is powered by Intel Core i3 processor running with a clockspeed of 2.13GHz. The ThinkPad L412 display features 16:9 High Definition Anti-glare showed in an 14 inch LCD led and GMA HD graphics. It has a whooping 2GB DDR3 memory, wireless connectivity options, and a storage capacity of 160 GB. Thinkpad L412 can also use Core i5 (optional) processor and extend its memory usage up to 8GB DDR3 and Hard Drive up to 500GB. Other specifications include 2-Megapixel webcam, Bluetooth, DVD+/-RW and 57% bootup speed and shutdown Windows 7.

MSI Touchscreen Netbook with Intel’s Pine Trail Atom platform

Upon reading the latest technology news about MSI touchscreen notebook that seems to support Windows 7 touchscreen capabilities. It says that MSI may release a touchscreen netbook with Intel’s next generation Pine Trail Atom platform, and based on what I’ve read MSI have confirmed this statement. According to MSI, the new Intel Atom chipset is planned to be officially launched at CES. However, Intel tells us that it has not nailed down the launch of Pine Trail yet and maintains it will ship products to its customers before the end of the year.

Intel’s next generation Pine Trail Atom Processors have the capability to combine both CPU and GPU in a single package. The 10 inch convertible U150 will come with Windows 7 but it won’t support the Windows 7’s cool touch Pack Apps as touchscreen will be resistive not capacitive and sans any multitouch capabilities. But before going touch, MSI will release the 12-inch Wind U210, which like the recently released Gateway LT3100, has AMD’s Yukon platform rather than Intel’s Atom. MSI will offer it in two different skus, including one with Windows XP, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive for $379 and another with Vista Premium for $429. The U210 will be available in the U.S. during the first weeks of September.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Processor 2.83GHz

Clocked at 2.83 GHz, the Q9550 is the second most powerful after the Q9650 in the Core 2 Quad family. The Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 made it to the top by defeating AMD’s most powerful quad-core processor, the Phenom X4 955, by a small margin on the time it was released. It scored higher in most 3D benchmark tests except the audio and video encoding tests. Since both Core 2 Quad Q9550 and Phenom II X4 955 are priced almost the same, still the Q9550 is the better choice. Not because I’m a great fan of Intel processors that’s why I’ve chosen this one, but because of it’s performance and features. Still don’t underestimate AMD’s Phenom II X4 995, because it has features to unlocked multiplier which makes overclocking a breeze. However, the Q9550 can be overclocked much higher (more than 1 GHz) by increasing the FSB.

Intel Core i7 Extreme 975 and Core i7 950 Processor

Good news for all the techie and geeks out there, especially for the Intel Core i7 enthusiasts. A new model of the Core i7 platform is now available, the Core i7 Extreme 975 and Core i7 950 processors are now out at a few online US retailers as of this morning.

As we mentioned back in February, both processors are to serve as replacements for the existing Core i7 Extreme 965 and Core i7 940 at higher clock speeds, a new stepping revision, and the same respective price points.

The Core i7 Extreme 975 is the fastest consumer Nehalem processor so far, a quad-core chip with 3.33GHz clock speed and 8MB of shared L3 cache. It’s being listed for between $1,100 and $1,129.

Meanwhile the Intel Core i7 950 clocks in at 3.06GHz and includes 8MB of shared L3 cache. That’s priced at a slightly more affordable (but only in comparison with the 975) $649. According to retailer PCs For Everyone, both chips will be released on May 31st.

Like the Nehalem-EX both processors are based from Nehalem micro-architecture, PCWorld claims that these Core-i7s chips can be ultimately replaced by codenamed Gulftown, a 32-nanometer processors that will be part of upcoming Westmere family. This series of 32-nm processors is said to be more efficient and faster than the Core i7s chips.

Smallest Computer in the world – Compulab Fit-PC 2

CompuLab has released the smallest techie computer system in the world, fit-PC2 with most power-efficient Intel Atom PC to date. Fit-PC2 is designed around the Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz and the ultra low power Intel US15W system controller hub, rather than the Atom N270 and 945G used in other nettop-PCs, thereby reducing power consumption by more than two thirds.
US15W incorporates hardware video acceleration. This allows fit-PC2 to run Windows XP or Ubuntu Linux at just 6W and to play full HD 1080p H.264 video using less than 7W. The most striking feature of fit-PC2 is its size – 4″ x 4.5″ x 1.05″ – smaller than a CD.

HP's Latest Notebook: Pavilion DV3T Notebook

HP has redesign its HP Pavilion DV3T Notebook. Now it is considered HP’s lightest Intel home notebook.The HP Pavilion dv3t has gone on sale, this latest computer was the company’s lightest-weight Intel-based Pavilion notebook, boasting a 13.3-inch LED-backlit display, Core 2 Duo processors from the 2.0GHz T6400 upward, and up to 7hrs run time from the optional 9-cell battery. The Pavilion dv3t weighs 4.93lb and has optional 512MB NVIDIA GeForce G 105 graphics. An entry version of Pavilion dv3t starts at 799 USD. It comes with 2GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB of RAM and 250 GB hard drive. Also it has a DVD burner and Intel’s GMA 4500MHD for video enjoyment. Connectivity includes standard WiFi b/g (or optional WiFi n and Bluetooth), optional integrated mobile broadband, an HDMI port, and VGA webcam plus microphone. Latest Technology: Intel Core i7 Processor

The standard in gaming processors, at least as far as Intel goes, is the Intel Core 2 Duo and Quad Core, which offer pretty exceptional computing performance at a relatively low price. Still, as you probably are aware, no computing technology lasts forever and there is always something better coming in the pipeline. According to most people, the next generation of Intel chips is not only good, but exceptional. This next-generation chip by Intel is called the Core i7 and according to recent testing and research, it will dramatically change the way you experience gaming and computing.

One of the first things you’ll notice about the Core i7 is that it has an integrated memory controller. Rather than moving from the CPU through the Front Side Bus and then eventually making it to the RAM, the process is bypassed allowing for much faster memory processing. This also eliminates the need for a front side bus and an external memory controller. By eliminating these parts, you can expect servers to reap the most benefit because of the lack of gridlock within the FSB for multiple processors.

The Core 7 also integrates tri-channel memory, and ditches the old dual-channel options. This is said to have dramatically increased memory speed, but it also was needed for processing bandwidth. It remains to be seen how well tri-channel memory actually stacks up to the current dual-channel model. But, if it means more efficient bandwidth processing, then it must have some benefit. Although most boards will have 4 slots, Intel said that adding a 4th memory stick will slow down your processing speed, to increase the RAM speed. I am still a bit skeptical about tri-channel memory. But like all other upcoming technology, it will eventually evolve into something that is either usable, or be replaced.

Another cool feature of the i7 processor line is that Intel will offer a Turbo Mode that is made possible because of the power management features of the new hardware. This chip runs so efficiently that it is able to function in a quasi “power saver” mode. This will allow the chip to use the saved power to increase frequencies as necessary during times of increased processing need. This sounds like an interesting way to preserve and spend processing power.

When tested against other more popular chips, the Intel Core 7 whooped every single chip it faced (sometimes by as much as 8o% to 90% faster speeds!) Nearly every single chipset was tested, including AMD’s flagship Phenom chip. But, nothing was able to come close. You need to buy a new board to match its chipset, so I wouldn’t recommend upgrading any time soon. You will also need to make sure you have DDR3 memory sticks, as the Core 7’s initial processor model do not support DDR2 SDRAM. While many enterprise desktops are starting to come with the i7 processor, for large corporate needs, high performance computing options are still ideal.

Acer 4935g-743g32mn Laptop

Acer 4935G-743g32mn is a new high end laptop having a dimensions of 342(W) by 239(D) by 23/38.6(H) millimetres, weighing about 2.4kg.The notebook equipped with an Intel Core2 Duo 2.4GHz 8600 CPU, 4GB DDR2 RAM, and a 500GB hard disk is more than enough to handle your daily tasks, even if you’re an animator. It boots up Windows Vista Home Premium in about one minute and 14 seconds.

On the graphics side, with an nVidia 512MB GeForce 9300M GS, the unit manages to obtain a score of 5,342 from 3D Mark 03, and 870 from 3D Mark 06 – both also running at default settings. Basically this laptop is also created for gamers, but aside from gaming Acer Aspire 4935G is also designed as a multi-media entertainment. Just look around its body and you would see phrases like “Superior HD Image Quality for video chatting,” “16:9 True Cinematic View,” “Full HD 1080 Playback” and “True 5.1 output.”

The six-cell, 4,400mAh battery lasts 2 hours and 21 minutes playing back a long MP3 file non-stop. Acer says it should last 3 hours in stand-by mode. If this is not enough for you on the go, you have two choices: 1) make do with Acer QuicCharge technology (80% charge in one hour, two-hour rapid charge system-off, three-hour charge-in-use), or 2) acquire extra batteries of the same rating. No nine-cell battery is available for this machine.As a part of the test, after a couple of hours running, results turns out that Aspire 4935G have great heat dissipation capabilities.
