According to the latest tech news in China, Samsung has announced its newest device in the form of a flip smartphone, dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy Folder “SM-G9198”. This specific device passed through TENAA which is China’s equivalent to the FCC, July of this year.
I’m sure many people have already forgotten the phones with flip design that became popular 3 to 4 years ago because what’s trending now are smartphones that have bigger screens with higher specs.
Well if you have owned such flip devices from Motorola, LG, Alcatel, etc. just to mention a few companies that created such devices, I know you are proud of that device which you have used for several months or years like me.
Here are the top selling flip phones according to eBay:
- Samsung Gusto 3
- Alcatel 2010 Flip Phone
- Pantech Breeze IV
- LG wine 3
- LG Revere 3
- Samsung Convoy 2
- Casio Ravine 2
- Motorola Razr Sprint
- Sprint Kyocera Dura
- Sprint Sanyo Taho
With the announcement of the SM-G9198, you will be surprise how powerful this flip smartphone as it is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with dual 3.9-inch Super AMOLED display running at 768 by 1280 pixels each protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Other important specifications of the Galaxy Folder include 16GB of storage expandable via microSD, 2GB of RAM, 16MP rear shooter with aperture size of f/1.9 and a 5MP front-facing camera.
The Samsung SM-G9198 also sports LTE connectivity and will come out of the box preinstalled with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with 2020mAh battery.
As of the moment, there is no information if the device will be launch outside China and also there is no information regarding its price, but I’ll make sure to update this post when I’ve gathered new data.
