LG G Watch finally gets official. This highly anticipated gadget by LG is powered by Android Wear, Google’s operating system for smartwatches. The LG G Watch has a minimalist design and it comes with a 1.65-inch always on display with a resolution of 280 x 280, and it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC clocked at 1.2GHz which is said to be energy efficient. This smartwatch is also equipped with 512MB of RAM with 4GB of storage.
Similar to other smartwatches created, it connects with any Android smartphone running Android 4.3 or higher via Bluetooth connectivity, and it gives users the ability to check messages, calls, and other incoming notifications without taking the smartphone out of your pocket. The watch itself is completely buttonless and it uses voice recognition as its primary control option. The smartwatch is IP67 certified, making it dust and water-resistant for up to 30 minutes to a depth of one meter. LG has opted for a 400 mAh battery to make sure there’s enough juice for the smartwatch.
LG G Watch comes with $229 price tag at the Google Play Store, available in two colors: Black Titan and White Gold, and users can replace the strap with any 22mm strap available in the market. Shipping for this smartwatch begins from July 7th.
