According to the latest news and rumors, Huawei will going to have a press event this coming March 1, 2015 for Mobile World Congress, although there’s no specifics on which particular handset will be launched then, maybe the flagship smartphone – Huawei P8 or a rumored compact version of the Huawei Ascend Mate 7.
Huawei Mate 7 was announced September 2014 and it features 6-inches IPS display and powered by Quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 paired with Mali-T628 GPU. The handset is also available with 16 GB, 2 GB RAM/ 32 GB, 3 GB RAM configurations and has 13MP rear shooter and 5MP front facing camera. The Mate 7 comes with Android Kitkat out of the box.
On the other hand, the leaked Huawei P8 is said to have 5.2-inch Full HD display powered by Octa-core Kirin 930 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM, 13MP rear shooter with a 2,600 mAh battery. As of now, these are the only information available and it seems that the Huawei P8 was encased with a prototype chassis. Expected release date for this smartphone would be Q2 of this year; pricing is still unknown for the moment. I’m going to update this page once information about P8 was released.
