Dong Nguyen’s Latest Game – Swing Copters Thu, 21 Aug 2014 15:53:22 +0000 Dong Nguyen, the creator of the all time favorite Flappy Bird Game for smartphone and Flappy Birds Family for Amazon Fire Tv has unveiled its newest game called Swing Copters. This game will be available for on both Apple’s iOS and Google Android platform for free. The Swing Copters game and Flappy Bird have many similiraties like same graphics, simple controls yet seriously tough gameplay.

In the Flappy Bird game you need to pass the pipes by tapping the screen to ascend and descend. Here in The Swing Copters game instead of going forward passing through each pipe, you need to control your character in a left or right motion moving upwards the screen while avoiding hanging hammers that are swinging. As I have mentioned, the game can be downloaded for free but expect that there will be ads on it so if you don’t like seeing these annoying ads, you can pay 69p / 99c in game to remove these banner adverts on the iOS version. So far the game has a rating of just 3.9 out of 5 on Google Play but a slightly higher rating of 4 out of 5 on Apple’s App Store.

Pokémon Trading Card Gaming Coming to iPad Sun, 17 Aug 2014 15:59:08 +0000 While searching for the latest updates of the game Pokémon. I’ve read that the all time favorite Pokémon game will be coming to iPad later this year but only the Trading card game version and I’m not sure if it will be free to play but one thing is for sure it is real as it was confirmed by a representative from The Pokémon Company.  I’ve been addicted to this Pokémon game when I was in high school and I was able to play the Original Yellow version, Red, Blue, Green, Crystal, Pokemon Trading Card game, Sapphire, Ruby up to the Fire Red and Green Leaf versions. I wasn’t able to play the next generation Pokémon versions as I’ve to focus on my studies so I have to quit until they launched the X and Y version which are only playable using Nintendo 3DS / DS which I wasn’t able to play because I don’t have a DS back then and I was stucked on my Gameboy Advance.

Xiaomi Indonesia Website – Text Translated

As of now the Xiaomi Indonesia site has a few details on their site including a Facebook page for Xiaomi fans in the region, but there is an interesting part on their newly launched website asking for what smartphone can you design with a budget of 2 million Indonesian rupiah (IDR) or almost $170.  Sorry if you can see 2 million USD, I’ve doubled checked it already and the conversion of 2 million IDR is only around 170usd so please forgive that translation error because I need to translate the whole text so that I can understand what is written on their site :)

PyID adds Optical Character Recognition to your Raspberry Project Wed, 13 Aug 2014 15:47:19 +0000 I’m very interested on Raspberry Pi mini PC systems that’s why I keep on searching for the latest news and updates with this technology. On my last update it was all about UniPi, which is an expansion board for extra inputs and outputs connectivity for your Raspbery project. Now what I’ve recently read is a code called PyID that gives your system an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) intelligence. I’ve already seen its live demo and I was really amazed how the creator (Migel Tissera) of this code manage to read such hand writings from 0 to 9. He was really a genius! “PyID is a cutting edge machine-learning algorithm based on a novel neural network architecture written in Python. The neural network has been trained to recognise hand-written digits (0-9), but it can be trained on any compatible dataset with minor modifications to the source code.” Tissera explained.

He also stated that the PyID code was meant for Pi only. “PyID was written with a simple goal in mind – To bring some intelligence in to the most popular mobile computing platform. Over the past year alone I have seen some amazingly cool products coming out of the community with the Pi. But most of them lack intelligence. And by no means it is wrongdoings of the creators – it’s just that until now, there have not been an easy to implement source code or a package – They haven’t had the support from right researchers and engineers. Well, PyID is here to fix that.”

You can check more about the Raspberry Pi PyID code via Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise $2,000 in pledges.
